Mirror Mirror

A kaleidoscopic fairytale that explores the boundaries of reality and fantasy - 2010.

haute couture fashion collection about reality and fantasy

The collection ‘Mirror Mirror’ reads as a kaleidoscopic fairytale. Anneloes drew a lot of inspiration from the work of choreographer Busby Berkeley, who used large groups of showgirls to arrange geometric dance routines for the Hollywood films of the ‘30’s and ‘40’s. With his unique camera positions he created kaleidoscopic images so as to introduce the spectator to a magical world of fantasy.

In this collection Anneloes explores the boundaries between fantasy and reality by using reflection, repetition and ‘trompe l’oeil’-effects. In addition to the clothing you can find these elements in the prints that Anneloes developed herself.

Eyecathers in the ‘Mirror Mirror’ collection are, among many more: a jacket made out of little rabbitheads made out of printed fabric combined with a graphic nude bodysuit, a transparent top with a pair of shorts printed with birds of paradise, and a bodysuit with a graphic black and white print.
